Garden Wedding at Makray Golf Club

Greta and Justin’s Makray Memorial Golf Club wedding was a dream. Their love story began in a college bar in Denver, Colorado but the couple opted to celebrate their love in the Chicagoland area where Justin is originally from - so they planned their wedding from Colorado (with a little help). They both enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, so when it came to finding a venue, Greta was searching for a place where they could enjoy the outdoors on their wedding day. With it’s sweeping green golf course, outdoor terrace and historic clubhouse, Makray Memorial Golf Club was the perfect location for an indoor/outdoor wedding.

Greta and Justin were surrounded by friends and family that came from literally all over the world to celebrate with them. The ceremony took place on the outdoor golf course where Greta and Justin exchanged their vows against sweeping hills and a stunning blue sky.

Greta’s vision was to bring the outdoors inside, and with the expertise of Soul’s Greenhouse, had organic centerpieces and floral arrangements of in-season blooms, and grasses, with touches of butterflies that made it feel like a garden. Guest’s enjoyed a bustling cocktail hour on the Clubhouse’s ballroom terrace and enjoyed a reception with beautiful speeches that didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. The dance floor was full all night and included a surprise dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller’ by one of the groomsmen.
