Happy Monday birdies! Its finally June, peak wedding season where brides are planning their big day, getting married and writing sweet vows to their beloved! Its a wonderful time of year. One of the best parts of planning is finding the perfect gown. I love wedding downs, so many styles, so many fabrics and so many bridal shops to choose from. I am super excited about a new bridal boutique that opened up this month called Honey Bridal in Andersonville. Brought to you by the lovely ladies behind the Milk Handmade shop right next door, Honey Bridal is a place where a bride-to-be can be whatever kind of bride she wants. Honey carries so many different styles of gowns and separates, and is brimming with sparkly accessories for the perfect bridal look. The store is adorable and they only take one bride at a time for the best and most personal experience. If you’re looking for a place where they make your bridal dreams come true, look no further than Honey! Bling For the Modern Bride: Carried Jewels

This week I was dazzled by lovely jewelry at the launch party for Carried Jewels, an online shop for unique bridal jewelry!

Happy weekend Birdies! I’m so excited about today’s post. One of my favorite things to do is meet lovely human beings in the wedding industry who are offering unique and fantastic services to brides. This week, I attended a launch party for Carried Jewels, an online jewelry boutique specializing in engagement and bridal jewelry for the modern day bride. Why do i love them? Not only is the business run by the two most fantastically refreshing women, but the pieces are affordable, nontraditional, and just stunning. No two rings are alike and they’re all made to order. As someone that keeps my eyes open to bridal trends, I find that most of the big box jewelers carry the same styles of rings. It’s so refreshing to find Carried Jewels that really cares about catering to brides that aren’t looking for rings that all the other brides have. I was fortunate enough to see (and try on) some of their beautiful wares in person at the launch party hosted by Honey Bridal . Such a fun way to spend a Thursday evening: sipping cocktails courtesy of Crafthouse Cocktails , indulging in sweet treats by Altissima Cake Co. , and trying on sparkly jewelry! Each ring has it’s own personality, and you can even, layer, stack, and mix and match your favorites for the perfect bridal set! If you’re in the market for a ring, whether its for the ceremony or an anniversary, Carried Jewels is definitely the place to look. You can see their full collection online here

Birdcage and Blushers x Rent The Runway: Bridal Looks For the Bride to Be!

Everyone knows that your wedding dress is probably the most important dress a bride will wear. However, what about all your other wedding events i.e. engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, welcome party etc.? With your family and friends celebrating your upcoming nuptials, why not look gorgeous and polished every step towards walking down the isle. This was very special! For this I partnered with fabulously stylish Rent The Runway for a fun shoot in downtown Chicago. If you’ve never tried RTR, you should! RTR offers designer clothes and accessories to rent for any occasion and affordable prices!  I worked with the lovely Camille Ries from the Chicago showroom and we pulled some fun looks featuring some of their newest pieces that would be great for your wedding event needs!

The first look we shot was this sassy black popover jumpsuit by Jill Stuart. I really wanted to feature at least on jumpsuit since they are so in right now. I loved it because it reminded me of the black jumpsuit Carrie Bradshaw wore to her rehearsal dinner in the SATC movie! This is a super chic look, great for engagement photos, or rehearsal dinner (or whatever you want really! The stunning gold earrings are Lizzie Fortunate, and also available to rent!

The next dress was so eye catching! I love jewel tones! They are bold and look goo on everyone. This J. Mendel Plunge Neck Draped Slit dress was so elegant, and unique. I love this dress! Its in a different direction than your typical white dress. But it’s so unique and classy. Here’s a close up! Hello legs!

And last but certainly not least, my favorite dress of the day. The absolutely classic and absolutely stunning White Harlow dress by Jill Stuart. If i were getting ready to walk down the isle, I’d definitely wear this at the rehearsal dinner or a very elegant shower. The shape is so flattering and the dress is comfortable to wear. We decided to pair this dress with gorgeous Crystal Rimmed Pendant Earrings by Oscar De La Renta!

Here are the links for each piece below!

Quick Tip: Wedding Email

If you don’t have an email account just for wedding, you should. Here’s why!

pexels-photo-211856Happy Wednesday! We’ve made it half way through the week Birdies! I was at my desk this week, halfway through drafting an email when i realized the bride had a wedding email address. Yes, an email address just for her big day. Truth? It’s something that i wish i would’ve done while I was planning. If you already have one, you’re on the right track. If not, do it because it’ll make your life a little easier.

Think about all of the email you get in a day. Now think about how many emails you’re going to be receiving during the planning process: responses to your inquires, emails from your planner, the venue, the DJ, the caterer and pretty much any other vendors you’ll need.

The good news is, an email account is free and only takes five minutes to set up. It’s a great way to keep you organized and not let any important emails fall through the cracks. Another great tool to utilize is the calendar. With your wedding email account, use the associated calendar tool to keep track of your deadlines and appointments. You’ll have everything you need in one place.

Hope you enjoyed the quick tip! As always, make sure you subscribe to keep up with all the latest B and B updates!

Happy Planning!

‘Tis The Season: Winter Weddings

Let it snow, let it snow! Today we’re talking about the fun of winter weddings!

Every wedding season, traditionally summer and early fall months are the most coveted months to get married. However, a lot of couples do get married in the winter time, whether its to save money or because they love the idea of a winter wonderland on their wedding day. Either way, winter weddings can be really fun and really beautiful. Here are a few ways to celebrate the season on your big day!

Pretty lights!

ps73155_121

You can think of winter season without thinking about twinkle lights! Tiny white or amber twinkle lights is an elegant way to give your wedding a seasonal feel and you can incorporate them anywhere from the centerpieces, to the tables, and around the venue. Pier 1 Imports has very affordable LED string lights in a few different colors.

Seasonal Center Pieces

When I think winter I think holiday season, white, sparkle, red, pine, etc. You can give your wedding a winter feel by incorporating seasonal centerpieces. Notice how I say seasonal as opposed to Christmas. It’s your wedding day, so you want your wedding to be timeless and classy. Instead of Santa and Reindeer, stick to more classic themes. Your wedding will still look like a wedding and be timeless in photographs.

Signature Flavors

Winter is such a cozy time of year! Incorporate flavors into your day that makes your guests warm and fuzzy. One great way to do that is in a signature beverage! A fun cocktail with cranberries, boozy hot cider, or mulled wine, are a few of my wintertime favorites. Why not incorporate a hot chocolate bar into your dessert service or sweets table!

Escort Cards

Ok…as much as i lean toward classic traditional notes, I love to see unique, out-of-the-box escort cards. I think its one of the areas of your wedding where you can get truly creative! Christmas Gift Boxes, Mini Ornaments, Snowflakes…so many options. I really adore these pine cone escort cards! Simple and seasonal. Spray a little sparkly, fake snow and you’re good to go!

Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle!

I love seeing winter weddings with sparkle and there’s a way to incorporate sparkle without it being overwhelming. I’m a huge fan of glitter table runners, and overlays. A lot of linen companies have sparkle linen you can rent in a variety of colors like black, gold, silver, white, and fun colors like blue!

And then of course, you can always wish for snow….and get shots like this.
